HI all,
I am new to this site. I started Clomid yesterday, and was instructed by my doc to take it on days 5-9. However, I see that other people take it on different days (CD 3-7, 2-6, etc.). Anyone know why? What difference does it make? Thanks for any answers! |

Well..I take Clomid CD 3- CD 7.... I have short periods....like....3-4 days..I think that is why the doc had me on CD3-7.....BUT.....I think that different doc's have different ideas
Sorry I couldn't help much!

Hi there. I think its due to the length of your cycle. I had to take mine from days 2-6. I have a cycle that varies between 29-31 days however. So I am sure its just in regards to that.
Good luck |

Ok, I'm kinda late on this. I just discovered this board was here. I normally post on the ttc 2 or more board. I just got my first prescription for clomid after ttc #2 for over 18 months. I have really short cycles, so I was told this time I'm to take it on cd 3-7, however when we were ttc my ds, I had very long cycles and was told to take it cd 5-9. It all depends on your cycle length.

I was told to take Clomid on cd2-cd6, My doctor told me that studies show that when taking it like this there have been more eggs that we produced. Last month I took an ovulation test and it said yes i had ovulated. At the ultrasound we could see that I had ovulated, and with a blood test we could see that all the other tests had worked.

well, I just about freaked out a few minutes ago. I was told to take the Clomid on days 5-9 and for some reason got my days mixed up and started today, day 4. Do you think this will be a problem anyone? I am scheduled for an IUI next week if ovulation goes well. |

I think you'll be just fine. I asked my doc about the 5-9 vs. 3-7 thing, and she said that it's just physician's preference -- she prescribes it on 5-9 but knows of others who prescribe it on 3-7, and it doesn't make a difference. She told me that I could take it on 3-7 if I wanted to. So I don't think that you have anything to worry about.
Good luck! |
